The Privateer 1.6 is now out. If you have picked up a copy and did not get the latest version, please let me know...I may have missed you or spam filters may have reared their ugly head.
Here is what 1.6 brings to the theme:
Multi Column Post ListsYour home page, search page, and category archive pages can now be set to display posts in multiple columns. This setting is located in the Post Display sub-panel of each template admin panel.
Ad / Content Spots in the Post ListsYou can now mix advertisements into your post lists, having them take the place of particular posts ( pushing the post in question down a spot ).
For single column displays, you can also choose to have an ad spot share space with a post, taking half of either side of the available space.
This functionality is also in the Post Display sub-panel of each template. Additionally, there are some new styling options related to this functionality in the Post Styling sub-panel.
Placement of Post ThumbnailsWhen drawing a post list, your multi post templates can now be set to show in different places with respect to the other post sections.
This functionality is in the Post Display panel as well.
New Plugin - PWS WP Featured Content GalleryI re-wrote the featured content gallery plugin and included it with the theme along with support for the original featured content gallery plugin by iePlexus.
It primarily resolves most conflicts and adds the ability to display posts at random, by tag, and by author. It also allows placement of multiple galleries on a single site. I'll be showing an interesting use of it on my site that makes use of name parsing soon.
Site Heading Revision and AdditionI added a new bar, the date feed bar, which shows the date on one side and feeds on the other. You can see it on
my site currently.
I also revised the General Display - RSS and General Display - Header Setup panels so that each header bar has it's own menu and bars that use shared settings have their own distinct options for showing things such as the search box and rss feeds. This should resolve any need to make tweaks to the header when changing looks via quick sets.
I also revisited the quick sets and re-did them to make use of the functionality in 1.6 and included the tutorial set, the adsense crusher set, and the new church theme set in the download. Readmes were placed into the /stylesets/readmes/ directory.
Bug FixesI found quite a few minor bugs and fixed them. If you run into bugs, please let me know and I'll be happy to track them down and fix them asap.
