Hi,

I tried to activate the privateer theme in my Wordpress and got an error message that the pwsObject table could not be setup.

Any idea what should be done to fix this?

Thanks,
Karen

If the theme loaded, then try going to the following menu:

Privateer -> Database -> Utilities

In there, select the "Initialize Theme" option.

That should create any necessary tables and load all of the initial data for the theme.

If you still get the same error, please let me know.

Good to hear. Definitely let me know if you run into problems. Some server configurations might well give issues now and again...and before terribly long I'll be making the database tools a bit more robust.

I'm not sure if this is the same problem or not, but I think so becaause if I ignore the error message and activate the theme anyway, it seems to load and work ok.
This is the error message I got when I did 2 new WP installs today. Both were on Hostgater servers and both used Fantasico to setup WP. They install 2.92
After the install I upgrade to 3.0 using the automatic upgrad, and then I install the Privateer theme.
This is what I got after each install:
"Warning: include(/home/inmasale/public_html/wp-content/themes/privateer/classes/pwsLoadDefault.class.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/inmasale/public_html/wp-content/themes/privateer/privateer/classes/pwsOptionsBase.class.php on line 112

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening '/home/inmasale/public_html/wp-content/themes/privateer/classes/pwsLoadDefault.class.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/inmasale/public_html/wp-content/themes/privateer/privateer/classes/pwsOptionsBase.class.php on line 112

Fatal error: Class 'pwsLoadDefault' not found in /home/inmasale/public_html/wp-content/themes/privateer/privateer/classes/pwsOptionsBase.class.php on line 113"

As I said though,if I ignore the message and go ahead and install the theme it seems to work fine.

I'm thinking that the theme is not installed in the correct place, as the errors are referencing /privateer/privateer/ which should not exist...and normally means that the privateer directory for the theme was installed to a subdirectory named privateer.

I'll check it out as it is entirely possible that the piece meant to be installed via the theme directory ( privateer.zip ) is actually creating and containing a privateer directory...and being extracted as /privateer/privateer ( the first for the zip archive name and the second for the actual theme directory ).

Thanks for the heads up! If you run into further issues, I recommend ftping ( or using a cpanel style file manager ), renaming the top level directory to something else ( /oldprivateer ) and then moving the interior one up into the /wp-content/themes directory so that you end up with /wp-content/themes/privateer ( with no /privateer directory inside of it ).

No, you are correct, I went back and checked and I had installed it into a folder named themes/privateer/privateer.
Thanks for the help!
